The 2022 NFL Draft is nearly here. The grandest stage where college football players are selected to their dream. Where hard work and motivation collide to hear their name called on one of 4 nights.

This is our prediction for the first round, and will be scored.

Draft order is provided by Tankathon.

Our previous mock draft can be found here.

2022 NFL Mock Draft | Round 1 – Final

1.       JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan

Probably the safest pick in the draft. Walker is a possibility, but Hutchinson should be the pick. Hutch is a strong leader and had 14 sacks on the season in 2021.

2.       DETROIT LIONS
Travon Walker, EDGE, Georgia

Walker has some of the best upside of all the edge rushers. A gifted athlete that will be an immediate impact for the Lions.

3.       HOUSTON TEXANS
Ikem Ekwonu, OT, North Carolina State

Lovie would likely add defense but he must protect his young QB with one of the top OT’s in the draft. This pick will dictate the rest of the top 10 in this draft.

4.       NEW YORK JETS
Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner, CB, Cincinnati

Robert Saleh coached a 49ers defense lead by Richard Sherman. Gardner displays those same characteristics and is ideal for Saleh’s defense.

5.       NEW YORK GIANTS
Evan Neal, OT, Alabama

Andrew Thomas showed great improvement at LT, so the Giants need to fix the RT spot. Nate Solder was awful.

6.       CAROLINA PANTHERS
Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State

I hear that the Panthers are in love with Charles Cross and he is here to solve the LT position.

7.       NEW YORK GIANTS
Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon

If Thibodeaux drops this far, the Giants would not hesitate to grab him. Arguably the most athletic pass rusher in the draft.

8.       ATLANTA FALCONS
Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

With Calvin Ridley being suspended for the 2022 season, the Falcons need WR’s immediately. Mariota needs someone else than Kyle Pitts.

9.       SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Jermaine Johnson II, EDGE, Florida State

Seattle’s go to is their defense and they need to improve their defensive front badly. They have enough picks to rebuild rather quickly.

10.     NEW YORK JETS
Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama

Williams looks to be ahead of schedule for his recovery from a torn ACL. Best WR in the class.

11.     WASHINGTON COMMANDERS
Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

Hamilton ran a slow 40 and a lot of people are sleeping on him. If the Commanders can get him at 11 its great value for the talented S.

12.     MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU

Stingley tested well at his pro day but the tape on him is old enough where his stock drops a bit. PP21 finally gets his CB2.

13.     HOUSTON TEXANS
Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia

Lovie Smith loves to have penetrating defensive tackles that can blast through gaps.

14.     BALTIMORE RAVENS
George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue

The Ravens need to add pass rushers to their defense. Karlaftis is a disciplined but aggressive pass rusher who can move up and down the line.

15.     PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington

Slay holds outside while Maddox moves to slot. McDuffie is an aggressive corner that can cause fits regardless of length.

16.     NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (from Philadelphia)
Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa

Penning is a nasty OT with a mean streak, and if harnassed, he will be a solid LT for the Saints.

17.     LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Zion Johnson, OG, Boston College

Johnson is the best interior offensive lineman in the draft and would benefit the protection of Herbert.

18.     PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah

The Eagles have issues in stopping the run and coverage over the middle of the field. Lloyd is versatile 3 down LB with a constant motor.

19.     NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

Michael Thomas has needed another competent WR to draw attention away from him. Olave is a big vertical threat with smooth route selling to get open.

20.     PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Malik Willis, QB, Liberty

The Steelers have showed they are in the market for a long term QB. Willis fits their bill in every way.

21.     NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Daxton Hill, DB, Michigan

Belicheck likes versatility in his players. Hill can line up deep, in the box or as buffalo nickel.

22.     GREEN BAY PACKERS
Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

Packers traded Devante Adams and they need to replace his production. Burks is not an overly fast receiver but has traits similar to Adams.

23.      ARIZONA CARDINALS
Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa

Kyler Murray needs to have some protection, and that starts up front. Hudson is 32 and has issues with staying healthy.

24.     DALLAS COWBOYS
Kenyon Green, OG, Texas A&M

Cowboys lost Connor Williams and La’El Collins, so adding Green here is solidifying the offensive line once again.

25.     BUFFALO BILLS
Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington

Buffalo needed secondary help down the stretch with White on IR in 2021. Gordon is another physical corner that has immense capability in man press and zone coverage.

26.     TENNESSEE TITANS
Drake London, WR, USC

Ryan Tannehill needs to prove himself this year. Grabbing another receiving option with a large target radius will give him solid weapons all around.

27.     TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
Tyler Smith, OT, Tulsa A&M

Now that Brady is back, the Bucs could add a LG to help with the protection on his blind side. Smith projects at OT but can kick inside for better protection.

28.     GREEN BAY PACKERS
Devonte Wyatt, DT, Georgia

Wyatt would rotate immediately for the Packers DL, but all of their guys are on 1 year contracts.

29.     KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Boye Mafe, EDGE, Minnesota

Mafe has risen up the boards because of his altheticism and length. An aggressive pass rusher with big upside.

30.     KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

Tyreek Hill was traded before he got paid, so the Chiefs need to replace with a similar type of player.

31.     CINCINNATI BENGALS
Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson

Booth is a physical corner that can play man press and tackles well. Immediate impact in pass coverage.

32.     DETROIT LIONS
Lewis Cine, S, Georgia

The Lions defense is miles behind the offense, so getting 2 1st round defensive players helps close that gap.
